offer yourself the gift of healing.
my approach
My approach is trauma informed, eclectic and increasingly somatic. For the past several years I have been joyfully studying and incorporating Hakomi into my work; a mindfulness-based somatic form of psychotherapy that I believe works beautifully with the attachment system. Somatic work like Hakomi naturally supports us with embodiment and a deeper connection to ourselves. From this place of experiential connection, our innate healing capacity or wisdom is available to guide the work. Deeper, core wounds and patterns of organizing are also available for us to come into relationship with, study and tend to. This is all such an honor to facilitate and witness.
I also draw from somatic trauma resources to support with regulating nervous system arousal and resourcing somatically. My prior formal training includes studies in humanistic psychology, attachment, depth psychology, MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction), gestalt, family systems, motivational interviewing and expressive arts and movement therapy.
